Almost There

Nathan took the training wheels off of Gabriel's bike and he stayed upright for a short bit (and downhill, but it's a start). Gabriel was such a trooper. He really didn't want to try this but he gritted his teeth and did it! Nathan was extra cautious and made sure to have his helmet on while training the new cyclist.

Pink Eye Can't Stop Us

Poor Gabriel came down with pink eye, an ear infection and terrible cold. He was miserable. AND it was Barn Babies day at Bowen, where little baby kittens, bunnies, puppies, chicks, goats, and a pig come to visit and be held. After 24 hours of eye drops, I felt that we could sneak in for a quick cuddle since he wouldn't be in the classroom or touching toys, etc. I'm so glad that we did. He loved holding the little bunnies and kitties. He was very gentle and would pet them with one finger giving them little kisses.

On another bunny note, there is a bunny that lives in our backyard that we call Gabriel's bunny. On a warm sunny day, we were in the backyard playing and he walked around to all the bushes looking for his bunny calling, "Where are you my little one?" It was just about the sweetest thing I've ever heard.

HP Book Club Party

The girls spent a few months going to a Harry Potter book club for book one. We'd meet on non-Brownie Mondays to discuss the books. The girls loved it! We decided a party and movie viewing was in order after the book was completed. Pumpkin soda, Bertie Botts jelly beans, chocolate covered frogs and pizza added to the fun on Monday night. Maddie wore her witches costume, as did I, to play the role of Wizards.

Clown Car Kids Edition

We had a chilly BBQ with our friends, the Brownes. The kids tested Little Tykes' engineering by clown caring up and down the "hill" in our yard, until, you guessed it, someone got hurt.

13 Years

Yow. Frightening picture but Nathan and I had a blast celebrating our 13th at a Bruins hockey game. He was thrilled when I suggested we bid on tickets at the Angier auction. There was no arguing on his part. And we had a fabulous time. Aside from the brutal fighting, I would say hockey is my favorite professional sport to watch especially with my husband of 13 years!

100 Years

Our troop was proud to celebrate 100 years of Girl Scouting. It was wonderful for the girls to see what a big deal this is - with many articles and stories in the press, including in their Time for Kids at school. They loved learning about the past and how Girl Scouts has evolved.

Invention Invasion 2012 Version

Angier's Invention Invasion dawned with some super Sanders' inventions.

Theo created a magical clothes shooter. It shoots the clothes out of a cannon onto your body eliminating the need to get dressed. Let's hope he remembered to add underwear as Theo has a tendency to forget to wear it!

Maddie and Avery made a Super Duper Quill, inspired by their reading of Harry Potter. It's an everlasting quill (ink on top).
