First Graders at the MFA

I had the privilege of chaperoning the 1st graders to the Museum of Fine Arts. Normally, the MFA does not open up for 1st grade field trips but the art teacher knew this was a special group. It was a great trip though I was in charge of 11 children! I have never counted to 11 so many times. It was great to see the kids make connections and sprawl out on the floor to sketch.

Girl Scout Updates

Lots of fun Girl Scouting toward their health badge. Acting out what to do in an emergency and practicing epi-pens on an orange.

Mont Tremblant Part Deux

Off to Canada for February vacation!

Three little puzzlers

Still our favorite lunch spot. This time, there was live music. A Quebecois skier carted his guitar up the mountain to serenade us.

Gabriel and Lucy. We had full family ski time as Gabriel was able to ski the entire mountain!

The kids had an end of camp party. Gabriel elected for a Mommy/Daddy date. Guess who said he could have this for dinner?

We had another great week. We are thinking of staying stateside next year! So we bid adieu to Mont Tremblant.

A Shower for Mrs. Samuels

Happy news for Mrs. Samuels. Sad news for us. She decided to adopt three siblings! They are age 9, 6 and just 2. Wow! To aide in the transition, she was leaving Angier for the remainder of the year. The children were coming to her house with close to nothing. We organized a shower to celebrate her family.

So many items to start her home. The children in her class were thrilled to pass on toys to her children.

The shower was festive and spirited. The kids were overjoyed for the celebration (and absolutely crazy during the 30 minutes we set up. I couldn't believe it or control them!)

We will miss Mrs. Samuels. She is a talented and disciplined teacher. Maddie thrived under her.

Nemo!

The anticipation was amazing. The kids were climbing the walls on Friday (no school Monday either...). We waited and waited for Nemo. Thankfully, we made it through with power and lots of together time. It was a lovely storm!

Delivering Girl Scout cookies before Nemo hits. The snow was so wet and heavy we had to cover them with a blanket!

The morning after - our back door.

Our driveway, no definition between our driveway and the neighbor's side yard.

Maddie adopted my snowshoes and loved them!

Neighbor savior.
My friend Emily called and asked if Ed could come over to help us. Um, yes, please. It was amazing. We were carved out in an hour.

Bretton Woods

We took our couple's book club on the road, added 9 kids and subtracted the book for a fabulous ski weekend.

Stopped for lunch at the Wildcat Cafe.

 Dinners were busy and loud.

I really enjoyed this mountain. It was fairly easy and the weather was nice. Snow conditions were icy and man made.
